Le palmarès du volet professionnel VdR–Industry a été dévoilé lors de la remise des prix ce soir mercredi 26 avril. Cette plateforme, destinée aux cinéastes et producteur·ice·s, vise à soutenir la création audiovisuelle en offrant un soutien à toutes les étapes de la production, des opportunités concrètes de financement et de distribution, ainsi qu’un lieu de réseautage inspirant. Dirigé par Sophie Bourdon, VdR–Industry a accueilli 1600 professionnel·le·s représentant près de 80 pays, un chiffre stable après le record de l’édition 2022, et plus de 500 rendez-vous individuels se sont tenus en trois jours.
Sophie Bourdon, nouvelle responsable du programme VdR–Industry, souligne : « Pour ma première édition à la tête de VdR–Industry, je suis particulièrement ravie de constater que l’engouement des professionnel·le·s, manifesté l’an dernier par un record d’accrédité·e·s, se poursuit en 2023. Avec près de 1600 professionnel·le·s, VdR–Industry confirme son attractivité et nous encourage notamment à poursuivre le développement de nos différents Labs. » Le programme 2023, constitué de 31 projets issus de 32 pays, « reflète notre attachement à la diversité des projets retenus, que ce soit dans les formats, les techniques, les pays représentés… Il est réjouissant d’être témoin d’un cinéma documentaire vibrant et audacieux ainsi que de sa résonance auprès des acteur·ice·s de l’industrie que ce soit à travers la multiplicité des histoires, l'urgence ou la profondeur des sujets autant que des propositions formelles explorant le vaste champ des possibles du cinéma du réel. »

Visions du Réel est également ravi d’annoncer, au nom du comité de l’association, la nouvelle organisation autour du fonds suisse d’aide à la production visions sud est. Madeline Robert, actuellement membre du comité de sélection de Visions du Réel, quittera ses fonctions au Festival pour se consacrer à ce projet dès le mois de mai, aux côtés de Philippe Clivaz, directeur opérationnel du Festival International de Films de Fribourg, qui en assume la Présidence.
Le fonds d’aide visions sud est, doté par la Direction du Développement et de la Coopération (DDC), et dirigé par un comité composé de 4 festivals suisses (Locarno Film Festival, Festival International de Films de Fribourg, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur et Visions du Réel), ainsi que du distributeur suisse trigon-film, fait peau neuve. La gestion de ce fonds suisse de soutien au cinéma des pays du Sud et de l’Est est maintenant portée par Visions du Réel. Ce transfert intervient alors que les soutiens du fonds viennent d’être modifiés : une nouvelle liste des pays éligibles est effective en accord avec les objectifs de la DDC et l’accompagnement au cinéma documentaire est renforcé par la mise en place d’une aide à la production.
