Le Pardo d’oro va à «Regra 34»

L'édition 2022, marquée par les 75 ans du festival et de nombreuses initiatives, s'est terminée samedi soir. Le couronnement de onze jours de célébrations est le Pardo d'oro attribué à « Regra 34 » de Julia Murat. « De Noche los Gatos son Pardos » du Suisse Valentin Merz reçoit quant à lui une Mention spéciale dans la catégorie First Feature, et le Prix du Public UBS a été décerné à « Last Dance » de Delphine Lehericey.

Parmi les 226 films au programme et les 471 projections, cette édition a réuni le passé et l'avenir du cinéma, grâce à la rétrospective consacrée à Douglas Sirk, aux prix décernés à des vétérans comme Costa-Gavras et à des brillantes promesses du cinéma comme Daisy Edgar-Jones, ainsi que à l'animation poétique de Gitanjali Rao, accompagnée sur scène par les jeunes participants de l'Atelier du Futur, et aux projets portant sur la multidisciplinarité et les nouveaux médias. Au sujet de « Regra 34 » de de Julia Murat, qui remporte le Pardo d'oro, Giona A. Nazzaro, directeur artistique du Locarno Film Festival, s'est exprimé dans un communiqué: « Il s'agit d'un Pardo d’oro important pour une cinématographie telle que celle du Brésil, qui a défini des moments clés de l'histoire du cinéma mondial. Un cinéma qui est en première ligne pour défendre l'idée d'un monde plus inclusif et plus libre. « Regra 34 » ramène le cinéma brésilien à la splendeur anarchique du ‘cinéma marginal’. Une œuvre audacieuse et politique destinée à laisser une marque. Le corps devient un objet politique. »
